Keeper Talks at the Natural Science Center of Greensboro are formal and informal presentations for visitors given by the animal keeper staff with one or more animals. These presentations may or may not include food or enrichment. Keeper Talks at the Friendly Farm petting zoo do allow kids to feed the animals.

The above Keeper Talk schedule is subject to cancellations or substitutions during inclement weather, issues with animal health/safety, or in the case of an emergency that requires the attention of the keeper staff. Please check Keeper Talk Board at the entrance to Animal Discovery for any changes to schedule.

Friendly Farm Keeper Talks are usually opportunities for visitors to help feed the goats and sheep their afternoon hay under staff/docent supervision (the only time visitors are permitted to feed Animal Discovery animals). Around this time, a keeper is also available around the Friendly Farm area to answer questions while that keeper feeds the rest of the Farm animals.

FACES OF THE EARTH BOOK

The book features the animals from our very own
Animal Discovery Zoological Park!

The full color, hardback book celebrates the special connection that occurs when a child encounters an animal face-to-face.
The lyrical text and captivating illustrations reveal what the creature might want you to learn, to live, or to feel in order to better appreciate the animal kingdom.

Inspired by the magic that happens every day in Animal Discovery, author Elizabeth Almy has donated five hundred copies of the book to the Natural Science Center. One hundred percent of the proceeds of the first five hundred books will go directly into programming and exhibits which support the mission of the organization. Price - $16.95.

Purchase your copy today in the
Natural Science Center's Thesaurus Shoppe!

INDIANA BONES AND
SURVIVAL SCIENCE SPECTACULAR

11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m and 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday
12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Saturday & Sunday

Dr. Bones knows all about dinosaurs and has had adventures all over the world looking for what they've left behind. This much is clear from his current show, Kingdom of the Camarasaur. But there's a lot of other scientific knowledge stuffed under that famous hat! In our newest public show, Survival Science Spectacular, Indy shows how putting that knowledge of science to work has gotten our hero out of some pretty tough scrapes and saved the paleontologist's skin. What did Dr. Bones do when his disabled ship was about to be crushed against the rocks of a dangerous coast during the night? Or, how did our hero live to tell of a drop from the top of a towering bridge into the gaping mouth of death that was the river gorge below? When he was in the greedy grasp of quicksand up to his neck, or on the verge of being consumed by a hungry tornado of fire, or about to be attacked by his arch enemy swooping down on the roaring blades of a deadly helicopter...how did science help him survive? Survival Science Spectacular is an exciting story told to us through fun and amazing demonstrations.
