NEW CAROLINA SCIQUARIUM
The Natural Science Center's new Carolina SciQuarium will be North Carolina’s only center-of-state aquarium featuring popular water-dwelling, endangered species like penguins, otters, fishing cats, sea turtles and sharks. It’s a 23,000 square foot, LEED designed aquarium with a focus on science education, hence the name SciQuarium! The SciQuarium will offer a complete immersion experience. Visitors can engage with animal keepers and educators to learn about the different species of animals and fish. In addition, behind-the-scenes tours and educational SciPods focus on the science of animal care, husbandry and water quality management. Once complete in 2013, the Natural Science Center will be home to an accredited American Association of Museums (AAM) Science Center, a world-class OmniSphere Theater, and an accredited Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) Animal Discovery Zoological Park and SciQuarium. It will be an amazing experience for visitors of all ages! We are looking to hire the new Curator of the Carolina SciQuarium! Click here to learn more about the qualifications for this position. Applications will be accepted through March 15, 2012.
